Could a 7-Day High-Dose pill beat a 14-Day standard for stomach bug?

NCT ID NCT07352098

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study compares two treatments for H. pylori, a stomach bacteria that can cause ulcers and cancer. One group gets a higher dose of vonoprazan (a stomach acid blocker) plus amoxicillin for 7 days; the other gets the standard dose for 14 days. About 290 adults with a first-time H. pylori infection will take part. The goal is to see if the shorter, stronger treatment works just as well and is safe.
