Scientists try to tame a psychedelic trip to fight depression

NCT ID NCT07503002

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a drug called risperidone can safely shorten the effects of LSD, and if this brief psychedelic experience might help people with moderate to severe depression. Researchers will give 10 participants LSD, followed by risperidone 45 minutes later, and monitor them closely. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and if it reduces depression symptoms.
