Summary

This study looked at two treatments for myofascial pain syndrome in the upper neck muscle: focused shockwave therapy and dry needling. 53 adults with this type of muscle pain were randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal was to see which one better reduces pain and improves neck function.
