Shockwaves offer new hope for radiation bladder pain

NCT ID NCT07016451

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a new treatment using low-intensity shockwaves to help people with bladder pain and urinary problems caused by past radiation therapy. 25 adults who had pelvic radiation at least 6 months earlier took part. The goal was to see if the shockwaves could reduce symptoms like painful urination, frequent trips to the bathroom, and blood in the urine.
