Summary
This study tested a device that uses sound waves to break up calcium buildup in the leg arteries below the knee. The goal was to improve blood flow and reduce the risk of serious problems like amputation. The study included 250 adults with severe peripheral artery disease, and the device was used during a standard procedure to open blocked arteries.
