First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested two non-invasive treatments for tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis): extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and phonophoresis (ultrasound with gel). Sixty adults with elbow pain for at least 3 months were enrolled. Researchers measured pain, hand grip strength, daily function, and tendon thickness using ultrasound to see which treatment worked better.
