Summary
This study tested a new vaccine called altSonflex1-2-3 to prevent shigellosis, a severe type of diarrhea, in 200 healthy African infants. The vaccine was given in two doses to see if it triggers a strong immune response and is safe. The goal is to find a simpler vaccination schedule that can protect young children in areas where this disease is common.
