NCT ID NCT04777864
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested a decision aid designed to help adolescents, parents, and clinicians make shared decisions about returning to contact sports after a concussion. Researchers enrolled 110 participants, including teens aged 11-17, their parents, and healthcare providers. The tool was given before clinic visits to support communication and reduce regret about the final decision.

- Active substance
- Decision Aid (behavioral intervention)
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this tool could help families and doctors make clearer, more confident decisions about when it's safe for teens to return to sports after a concussion.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study testing a new tool, not a treatment. It may not show clear benefits, and results may not apply to all concussion cases.
