New lupus shot enters first human safety tests

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new drug called SG301, given as a shot under the skin, to see if it is safe for people with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The study first gives a single dose to healthy volunteers, then multiple doses to lupus patients. About 48 people will take part, and researchers will monitor side effects and how the drug moves through the body.
