NCT ID NCT06200896
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new tool called the SFM Anastomosis System, which uses magnets to create connections between parts of the intestine during weight loss surgery. The goal was to see if the device is safe and works well in two types of procedures: one for people who had a previous sleeve gastrectomy but didn't lose enough weight, and another for a standard gastric bypass. A total of 28 adults with obesity took part. The main focus was on whether the device could create the connection without needing extra tools and whether there were any serious problems within 30 days, like leaks or blockages.
