Blood test may cut unnecessary hospital stays for pregnant women at risk of pre-eclampsia
NCT ID NCT05228002
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a blood test measuring two proteins (sFlt-1 and PlGF) can help doctors decide if a pregnant woman with suspected pre-eclampsia needs to be hospitalized. Pre-eclampsia is a serious condition that can harm both mother and baby, but current tests are not very accurate. The goal was to see if using this test could reduce unnecessary hospital stays. The study involved 43 pregnant women in France.
