First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at how middle-aged men and women (ages 50-65) recover muscle strength and size after one week of leg inactivity. Participants will have one leg immobilized for 7 days, followed by a week of rehab exercises. Researchers will take muscle samples and measure strength to understand sex-specific recovery patterns, with the goal of designing better prevention and treatment strategies for muscle loss.
