New hope for tough anemia cases: safer transplant trial launches

NCT ID NCT05757310

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a stem cell transplant using a partially matched donor for people with severe aplastic anemia that did not get better or came back after standard treatment. The approach uses a milder chemotherapy and immune-suppressing drugs before the transplant to reduce side effects and help the new cells grow. The main goals are to see if the procedure is safe and possible to do. Only 6 adults aged 40 to 75 will take part.
