New therapy shows promise for helping preschoolers with autism

This study tested whether adding a specific type of occupational therapy, called Ayres Sensory Integration®, to a child's usual education program could help improve their daily living skills and ability to process sensory information. The research involved 63 preschool-aged children with autism in Turkey, who were randomly assigned to either receive the extra therapy or continue with their usual care for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if the sensory-focused therapy provided measurable benefits beyond standard educational support.
