Anorexia study reveals how the brain hears itself
NCT ID NCT06298526
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at how women with anorexia nervosa perceive sounds they make themselves compared to sounds made by others. Researchers tested 31 women (some with anorexia, some healthy) to see if their brains dampen self-generated sounds differently. The goal was to better understand sensory processing in anorexia, not to provide treatment.
