NCT ID NCT07302308
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at how people with functional movement disorders (FMD) experience a sense of control over their actions. Researchers will measure how quickly participants respond when asked if they caused an action, using a computer task. The goal is to develop a more objective way to assess this sense of agency, which is often impaired in FMD. The study involves 30 adults with FMD and healthy volunteers.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a better understanding of functional movement disorders and improve diagnosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It does not test a treatment.
