At-Home HPV test could revolutionize cervical cancer screening

NCT ID NCT06498661

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study compares the accuracy of self-collected vaginal samples versus doctor-collected cervical samples for HPV testing in 750 women referred for colposcopy. The goal is to see if self-collection is a reliable alternative to traditional pelvic exams, which could make screening easier and more comfortable. Results will help the FDA decide whether to approve self-collection for cervical cancer screening.
