First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a small, smartphone-sized device called Seismofit that measures heart vibrations to estimate fitness in oesophageal cancer patients. Researchers want to see if this quick, rest-based test can predict complications like pneumonia and hospital stay length after chemotherapy and surgery. About 164 adults will be monitored throughout treatment, and the device's accuracy will be compared to standard exercise tests.
