Brain wave monitors could help wake ICU patients faster

Summary
This study tests whether using a brain monitor (BIS) helps reduce sedation medication and shorten ventilator time for ICU patients. Researchers will compare 30 sedated patients on ventilators—half with brain monitoring and half without. The goal is to see if this monitoring helps patients wake up faster and leave the ICU sooner.
