New study offers hope for stubborn blood clots

NCT ID NCT06486181

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study is for people with deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot in the leg) that hasn't improved after a week of blood thinners. It will test if adding a catheter-based procedure (using a tube to deliver clot-busting medicine or remove the clot) is safe and works better than blood thinners alone. About 100 adults will take part, and their symptoms and clot size will be tracked over time.
