First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether low or moderate doses of statins work better and cause fewer muscle problems in healthy adults aged 70 and older who have high cholesterol or heart disease risk. About 724 participants will take either a low or moderate statin and be monitored for muscle symptoms and heart events like heart attack or stroke. The goal is to find the safest, most effective dose for older adults.
