Summary
This study tests a device called the Selective Cytopheretic Device (SCD) in 20 ICU patients with severe heart failure and worsening kidney function. The device filters the blood to reduce inflammation, which may improve heart and kidney function enough to make patients eligible for a life-saving heart pump (LVAD). Participants receive daily 4-hour treatments for up to 6 days and are followed for 6 months to check safety and benefits.
