First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests how accurately three different dental scanners can capture the shape of the gums in people who have no teeth and need complete dentures. Thirty adults will have standard impressions taken, and the resulting models will be scanned with an industrial-grade scanner as a reference. Then, each person's mouth will be scanned three times with each of the three intraoral scanners to see which one matches the reference most closely. The goal is to find the most reliable scanner for creating well-fitting dentures.
