First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested if wearing special cold caps on the head during high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplant could prevent hair loss in people with multiple myeloma. 31 participants used the Penguin cold caps to cool their scalp. The goal was to see if at least 75% of people kept more than half their hair, and to weigh the benefit against any discomfort from the cold caps.
