New plant extract shows promise for shrinking fibroids in pregnant women
NCT ID NCT04762316
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a drug made from plant extracts (pregnenolone, pyridoxal phosphate, and dydrogesterone) to shrink uterine fibroids in 66 pregnant women. The goal was to reduce fibroid size and help them dissolve, especially during the first trimester when fibroids grow quickly. The treatment aims to control fibroid growth by stabilizing hormone levels, but it is not a cure since fibroids may return or require ongoing management.
