Hidden muscle loss found in many knee arthritis patients

NCT ID NCT07566520

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at how many people with knee osteoarthritis also have sarcopenia, a condition where muscles become weak and shrink. Researchers will check muscle mass, strength, and physical performance in 224 adults aged 40 and older in Upper Egypt. The goal is to better understand the link between these two common aging problems, not to test a new treatment.
