First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at how many adults in the intensive care unit (ICU) who need a breathing machine for more than 48 hours have muscle loss (sarcopenia). Researchers will use simple tests like questionnaires, body composition scans, and ultrasound to measure muscle. They will also track if patients develop weakness during their stay. The goal is to better understand and detect muscle problems early in critically ill patients.
