Summary
This study looked at whether certain proteins in saliva can help tell if someone has healthy gums, gingivitis, or periodontitis. Researchers measured three proteins (IL-6, IL-8, and LIGHT) in saliva from 60 non-smoking adults. The goal was to see if these proteins could be used as a simple, non-invasive diagnostic tool for gum disease.
