Spit test may spot gum and implant disease early
NCT ID NCT07187323
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at the free amino acids in the saliva of 120 people with healthy gums, gum disease, or implant-related inflammation. The goal was to see if different amino acid patterns could help tell these conditions apart without invasive tests. Researchers measured pocket depth and bleeding, then analyzed saliva with advanced lab equipment. The findings could lead to a simple, non-invasive way to monitor oral health around teeth and implants.
