Pancreatic stent timing study aims to reduce Post-ERCP complications

NCT ID NCT07346365

First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at the best timing for removing a small plastic tube (stent) placed in the pancreas during an ERCP procedure to prevent pancreatitis. About 358 adults who need this stent will be randomly assigned to have it removed early or left in longer. Researchers will track complications like the stent moving out of place or side effects from removal, to find the safest approach.
