First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special nerve block (sacral erector spinae plane block) can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after transurethral prostate resection. Sixty adults having this surgery under general anesthesia received either the block or standard care. Researchers measured pain scores and opioid use for 24 hours after surgery.
