Brain zaps may tame Drug-Induced movement disorder

NCT ID NCT07173920

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether a precise, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called rTMS can reduce involuntary muscle spasms in people with tardive dyskinesia, a condition caused by long-term use of certain medications. About 62 adults will receive either real or sham stimulation to see if it safely improves their motor symptoms. The goal is to find a better way to manage these distressing movements without surgery or drugs.
