Are routine x-rays after back surgery a waste of time and money?
NCT ID NCT07200557
Summary
This study looked back at nearly 1,000 patients who had spinal fusion surgery to see if the routine X-rays they got during follow-up visits actually changed their treatment. Researchers wanted to know if these common X-rays lead to more tests or different treatments, or if they are often unnecessary. The goal is to help doctors create better, more efficient follow-up plans that avoid unnecessary radiation and costs.
