Could a dash of your own fat help shoulder surgery last longer?

NCT ID NCT06960343

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether injecting a patient's own processed fat tissue during arthroscopic rotator cuff repair can improve long-term outcomes, such as reducing the chance of the tendon tearing again. About 52 adults with full-thickness tears will be followed for at least 5 years after surgery. The approach aims to use the fat's natural healing properties to support tendon repair, but it is not a cure and ongoing management may still be needed.
