Living valve replacement study aims to reduce need for blood thinners

NCT ID NCT06352671

Summary

This study follows patients who undergo the Ross procedure, a surgery that replaces a damaged aortic heart valve with the patient's own pulmonary valve. Researchers will track 225 adults for up to 10 years to see how well they survive and recover, and whether they need fewer blood-thinning medications than with artificial valves. The goal is to establish best practices for this complex surgery and confirm its safety and effectiveness at multiple medical centers.
