Robot vs. surgeon: which breast surgery leaves patients happier?

NCT ID NCT07230535

Summary

This study aims to find out if a newer, robotic surgical technique for nipple-sparing mastectomy leads to better quality of life and body image for patients compared to the traditional open surgery. It will involve 250 women with breast cancer or high genetic risk who are having immediate breast reconstruction. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the robotic or the open surgical method, and their recovery and satisfaction will be compared over a year.
