First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether robot-assisted surgery is less tiring for surgeons' muscles than standard laparoscopic surgery. Nine surgeons who perform prostate or bowel procedures had their forearm and neck muscle activity measured during real operations. The goal was to see if using a robot reduces muscle strain and long-term injury risk.
