Robot walks with burn survivors: new hope for gait recovery

NCT ID NCT07277166

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether training with a wearable robot can improve walking ability in people who still have trouble walking at least 6 months after a severe burn injury. Twenty adults who had skin grafts or burns on more than half of their lower body will do robot-assisted walking exercises for 1 hour a day, 5 days a week, for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in walking speed, step length, pain, and lung function before and after the training.
