Robots take on throat cancer: study checks if they get it all
NCT ID NCT01257633
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study observed 54 people with early-stage laryngeal cancer who had robot-assisted surgery to remove their tumors. The main goal was to see how often the surgery left healthy tissue around the cancer (clear margins). Researchers also tracked surgery time and complications. The study did not test a new treatment, but rather gathered information on how well this surgical technique works.
