Can a drug that depletes b cells help fight prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT01804712

First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This early-phase pilot study tested whether giving rituximab (a drug that removes B cells) before prostate removal surgery could reduce B cell levels in the tumor. Eight men with high-risk prostate cancer participated. The main goal was to see if the drug changes the tumor's immune environment, not to cure the disease.
