First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests a collagen plug enhanced with a growth factor (rhPDGF-BB) to help heal complex anal fistulas—abnormal tunnels between the rectum and skin. The trial enrolls 12 adults with a single fistula that has a draining seton in place. The main goal is to see if the plug is safe and can be implanted without serious side effects, with a secondary goal of checking if the fistula heals within 3 months.
