First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is for people with sickle cell disease who need regular blood transfusions. It tests whether matching donor blood by a specific genetic marker (RH genotype) can reduce the risk of the body forming antibodies against the transfused blood. About 35 participants will receive specially matched blood, and researchers will track how many develop these antibodies over time.
