First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a psychological program that retrains parts of the brain linked to fear and stress (amygdala and insula) to help people with persistent COVID. 120 adults with long COVID symptoms like fatigue, moodiness, and brain fog took part. The goal was to see if this retraining, combined with mindfulness, could improve their quality of life more than relaxation techniques alone.
