First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study compared two pain medicines, oliceridine and sufentanil, in 508 adults having a gastrointestinal endoscopy (a scope exam of the stomach or colon). The goal was to see if oliceridine causes fewer episodes of low oxygen levels (hypoxemia) during the procedure. Both drugs were given alongside propofol, a common sedative. The results help doctors choose safer sedation options.
