Could a blood pressure cuff help save your memory? new trial investigates

NCT ID NCT07317557

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive treatment called remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) can help prevent or slow memory loss in people with cerebral small vessel disease, a common cause of cognitive decline. Forty adults aged 30-80 with mild cognitive impairment will receive either real RIC or a sham procedure twice daily for 90 days. The main goal is to see if RIC improves scores on a thinking and memory test, and whether it reduces brain damage seen on MRI scans.
