Brain blood flow under the knife: remimazolam vs propofol
NCT ID NCT07303985
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at how remimazolam, a newer sedative, changes blood flow in the brain compared to the standard drug propofol during the start of anesthesia. Fifty-two adults having planned surgery took part. The goal was to measure blood flow speed in a key brain artery right after the drugs were given and after the breathing tube was placed. The results could help anesthesiologists choose the best sedative for patients where brain blood flow is a concern.
