First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at how two different exercise programs affect movement, muscle strength, and overall function in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Twenty-four adults who were stable enough to participate used either a bicycle-like exerciser alone or combined with electrical muscle stimulation for five days. The goal was to see which approach helps patients recover more quickly during their hospital stay.
