New radiation approach aims to prevent dangerous blood drops in cervical cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07461142

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether protecting the pelvic bones during radiation therapy can lower the risk of severe blood-related side effects in women with advanced cervical cancer. About 72 participants will receive standard chemoradiotherapy, but some will have their radiation planned to spare the bone marrow. The goal is to reduce the need for blood transfusions and avoid treatment delays that can hurt cancer control.
