First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special training program could help doctors reduce unconscious racial bias when talking with Black family members of seriously ill patients. Twenty-two doctors participated in simulated conversations with actors playing family members. The goal was to see if the training improved how doctors communicated, making it more equal and respectful.
