NCT ID NCT05977491
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study in Nepal tests whether using rapid point-of-care tests for sexually transmitted infections can reduce unnecessary antibiotic use in women with vaginal discharge. About 1500 women will be split into three groups: standard care, test-guided treatment, and test-guided treatment with extra education. The goal is to see if these tests help doctors prescribe antibiotics only when truly needed, reducing the risk of antibiotic resistance.
